What I offer

Life is challenging to navigate on your own and sometimes we need some help. I offer individual and couple therapy, both virtually for clients across Ontario, and in-person in Barrie, Ontario. My session prices range from $170 to $190. Sliding scale prices are available.

What can I expect from therapy?

I aim to create a therapeutic space that is welcoming, comfortable and safe. Therapy can feel scary and intimidating, and opening up to a stranger can feel incredibly uncomfortable. I allow you to take the lead, and I will always meet you where you’re at that day. I ensure to integrate a sense of humour into this hard work, and bring my humanness into the room.

How We Can Work Together

Body Image and Disordered Eating

The relationship you have to food can often be a complex one. I work to support individuals in better understanding their relationship to food and their body, in order to foster an improved relationship to both.

Addiction and Substance Use

Addiction and substance use issues can create painful experiences of shame. In my approach, I support individuals in learning more about the role of substances in their life, and how to support themselves through whatever recovery may look like for them.

Self-Compassion

Learning to practice self-compassion is a crucial, and challenging, skill. I work to support people in better understanding who they are, and developing a more gentle relationship with themselves.

I have been practicing as a Registered Social Worker for 5+ years in a variety of areas, including sexual assault, addiction, eating disorders and 2SLGBTIA+ issues. I approach this work with a lens of curiosity and non-judgment. My hope for my clients is they get to know and understand themselves better, in order to improve the relationship they have with themselves.

The Process of Therapy

Step 1

free consultation

It’s important that the therapist that you choose is the right one for you. I offer free, 15-minute phone consultations prior to booking. This gives you the chance to get to know me, ask questions, and get a feel for my approach, as well as who I am as a person, without the cost of a session.

Step 2

INITIAL SESSION

I take this step at your speed and never have expectations of how much someone may feel comfortable sharing when we first meet. We’ll discuss what has brought you in for therapy and what your hopes are. I also use the first session to get to know you more as a whole person, and important aspects of your life and identity.

Step 3

ONGOING SESSIONS

Frequency of session depends on you, and what you feel you’re needing. Clients may choose to attend sessions weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly. Ongoing sessions go at your pace.
